After 163 days of skiing and riding, Panorama Mountain Resort closed on April 21 capping one of the best seasons in the resort’s 56-years of operation.

Last year’s multi-million-dollar investment in snowmaking and slope grooming really paid off in the second-half of the season. Heavy early snowfall delivered close to the total annual average accumulation by the end of January, while February, March and April were much drier than normal.

Steve Paccagnan, President and CEO said leading-edge snowmaking technology allowed Panorama to offer quality skiing right through Easter Weekend. “We made the call to extend the season in early-February, being confident that we’d have excellent conditions regardless of the weather. The number of people that came out to ride on the final weekend is testament to that.”

It was a year of highlights for Panorama including the introduction of Monster X, a snowcat that delivers skiers in comfort to the top of new in-bounds, backcountry style terrain.

The second and fourth busiest days on record fell on December 29 and 30. The pre-season race training program welcomed World Cup athletes from the first week of November. Panorama was named host of the 2022 FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships.

Winter was also notable for the number of international visitors. The mountain saw more guests from the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia than at any other time in its history.

Warm season operations including the Mountain Bike Park open for the holiday weekend on Saturday, May 18. The top-ranked public golf course in British Columbia, Greywolf, opens even earlier on Friday, May 10.
