Structural safety concerns close Radium pools

Kootenay National Park today announced that the Radium Hot Springs pools are closed until further notice.

“Radium Hot Springs pools, including the hot and cool pools, are closed for the safety of staff and visitors due to structural safety concerns in the dry and wet hall,” Parks Canada reports.

More information will be provided once available.

The spa/wellness centre is open by appointment only.

This closure means the Columbia Valley’s two main hot springs tourism draws are currently closed, with Fairmont Hot Springs announcing its pools are closed temporarily on Jan. 10.
