The Bighorn Experience Nov. 3 and 4 in Radium
A highlight of this year’s Radium Hot Springs Headbanger Festival is an in-depth look at the village’s resident Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep herd through the eyes and experiences of a long-time resident.
The Bighorn Experience with Kent Kebe is presented at the Radium Hot Springs Visitor Centre on Saturday, November 3 and on Sunday, November 4 (10 a.m. to noon both days).

This interactive educational experience will help you understand the habits and what makes the Bighorn herd so unique and why the Village of Radium Hot Springs find these majestic animals so important to the community.
Knowledgeable staff will provide a hands-on experience with props and tools and storytelling. The Bighorn Experience also includes video, take home printed material and a small token to say thank you for joining us.
Join us and spend a couple of hours at the Radium Hot Springs Visitor Centre and learn about what makes Radium tick! The Radium Bighorns!
Kent Kebe was born in the Columbia Valley and has lived his entire life in and around the Village of Radium Hot Springs, graduated from David Thompson Secondary School in Invermere and went on to get his meat cutting certificate and worked in that field for 21 years at the family business in Radium Hot Springs.
He spent his holidays each fall guiding hunters and sightseers for local guide outfitters and honed his horsemanship.
Kent has been a lifelong member of the Lake Windermere District Rod and Gun Club and very active in his hobbies of wildlife viewing, fly fishing, hunting, hiking and shooting his APA compound bow.
Kent did not have formal education in wildlife management but has been very active during his life learning and teaching others about wildlife, archery and other associated outdoor activities. His main passion is for the bighorn sheep herd that calls Radium Hot Springs and area home.
Kent has been instrumental in creating the local wildlife display in the Radium Hot Springs Visitor Information Centre and has been associated with the Radium Bighorn Festival from the beginning in 2005 as an organizer and presenter.
The Radium Hot Springs Headbanger Festival 2018 runs Friday, Nov. 2 to Sunday, Nov. 4.
