The sky may have forgotten to shine, but that didn’t dampen spirits at the Village of Radium Hot Springs’ 29^th birthday party on Dec. 31.

There were plenty of skates on the ice of the new rink, tobogganers slipping and sliding and campfire visits during the day, with the village mayor, council and staff on hand at Brent’s Shack to hand out hot dogs, hot chocolate and hot chili to the attendees.

Slices of a giant birthday cake were also doled out to keep energy up, and the day was capped by a fireworks show courtesy of the village and the Radium Volunteer Fire Department.
