Snowfall warning for Kootenay and Yoho

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Kootenay and Yoho national parks area, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm expected.

“A disturbance will bring heavy flurries to the region this evening. Upwards of 15 cm of snow is possible. Conditions should begin to improve near midnight,” Environment Canada stated.

“Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.”

At the time of publication (6:53 p.m.), the snowfall warning does not apply to the other areas of the East Kootenay.
