Wildfires bad for business? How bad?
Do you wonder about Parks Canada’s plan for the Verdant Creek wildfire and Highway 93?
If so, they are holding a meeting at the Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce/ Lions Hall (651 Hwy 93/95) on Wednesday, August 9 at 5:30 p.m. to provide Columbia Valley business owners and managers with an update.
Are the fires impacting your business?
If they are please complete this survey Wildfire Economic Impact Survey.
In an attempt to best communicate our collective voice on the economic impact this is having, Kootenay Rockies Tourism is currently seeking to collect information from stakeholders and our communities regarding the economic impact the situation has had on tourism businesses throughout the region.
The goal, along with the other regions in B.C., is to provide the provincial government with a comprehensive overview of the effects on businesses in all areas, directly affected and unaffected.
“To this end, it would be extremely helpful if we could have your participation by way of completing this short survey. This is an opportunity for you to not only share your own experience in your business this season but to have it added to the many voices around the province,” Kootenay Rockies Tourism noted in a missive to Columbia Valley businesses.
The results of the survey will be shared with Destination BC and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, to help determine the best way forward.
