2019 Sam Steele Days theme announced
Planning is underway for Cranbrook’s largest annual festival.
For 2019, the theme of Sam Steele Days is ‘Celebrating the Spirit of Cranbrook: Its History, Its People, Its Future.’
It’s time to celebrate you, the citizens of Cranbrook who make the city such a great place to live, work and play. To celebrate you – the service clubs, organizations and business community for all you do for our citizens and city – to celebrate sports, art and culture.
We will celebrate the kindness, the volunteers, the youth and the elderly. It’s a celebration for everyone and we’re hoping you join in.
Sam Steele Society Chair Carrie Schafer said the theme decision was made by the committee to recognize the people who have dedicated countless hours to volunteering in and around the community, making Cranbrook what it is today.
“There are so many people who are not able to be here today but who have made such a huge difference in the community,” said Schafer. “We wanted to recognize those who have received awards for things they’ve done as well as those who have quietly gone about their work to get to where they are with volunteering.”
The grand parade will highlight some of these individuals and there is hope that organizations and businesses, including event sponsors, will recognize people who have helped them get to where they are today.
The 2019 Sam Steele Days festival runs June 13 to 16. Over 50 awesome events are set to take place throughout the community.
