2021 GoByBike Cranbrook Team Challenges

Look out motorists! There are going to be many more bicycles on the Cranbrook roadways during GoByBike Cranbrook Week from May 31 to June 6.

The GoByBike Cranbrook Organizing Committee from the Sunrise Rotary Club of Cranbrook is teaming up with local sponsors, media and the City of Cranbrook to promote participation in this sSpring’s GoByBikeBC Week. A goal has been set to try and reach a total of 500 registered riders.

To help create some more local FUN for 2021, a new Cranbrook TEAM CHALLENGE has been developed. The GoByBikeBC registration system offers the ability to REGISTER a “Team” and “Riders” for FREE.

Folks can easily sign up their company, Community Group, and Family/Friends Cycling Crew through the provincial website www.GoByBikeBC.ca Teammates will register themselves individually and “Join a Team” when they sign up. Then it is time to tune up your bikes and plan some fun (Covid-safe) rides to pile up the kilometres and challenge for one of three GoByBike Cranbrook Team Trophies!

Each cyclist will log their own individual rides which will be tracked for the team’s total.

The Team Categories for the Cranbrook Team Challenges will be divided as follows:

Piccolo Team: 2-8 Riders;

Medio Team: 9-19 Riders;

Gran Team: 20+ Riders.

Currently registered Teams include: the 2dayFM Radio Riders, 3 Crows Farm, Aubin’s, BDO Cranbrook, Bike Team 8-3 8-4, City Cycling Squad, College of the Rockies, Cranbrook Hydro, Cranbrook Tourism, Cruising Cousins, Derijk-Hawke, EKC Riders, Elizabeth Lake Lodge, FH Bike Squad, KOES Bike to School Spring 2021, Kootenay Christian Academy, Ktunaxa Enterprises, Laurie Middle School, LMS8384, Martin Family, MBSS, Mount Baker Secondary Outdoor Leadership, Mt. Baker Secondary School 2021, RDEK, Rotary Club of Cranbrook Sunrise, Spring Honda, St. Mary’s Cyclists, Steeples Elementary School, Team Smelly Dog, Team Summer 1, Team Summer 2, Team Tichauer, The Paw Shop and TM Roberts Elementary.

TEAM CAPTAINS: Please remind all of your cyclists to register, join your “Team” and log all of their rides during GoByBike Cranbrook Week at www.GoByBikeBC.ca

PRIZES! For every ride logged, Cyclists receive an entry for provincial prizes – including a Cycling Adventure for Two to Croatia and Visa Gift Cards.

COFFEE STATIONS

Meet some of your Teammates for a morning coffee at one of the 4 COFFEE STATIONS running every weekday from 7:45-9 a.m. during GoByBike Cranbrook Week. Locations include: COBS Bread, Northstar Bicycle Co., East Kootenay Community Credit Union and Hot Shots Café.
