Bedroom Furniture donates La-z-boys to hospital

The East Kootenay Regional Hospital recently received seven brand new leather La-z-boy chairs from The Bedroom Furniture Galleries for the maternity ward to help new mothers and fathers be a little more comfortable during their stay.

This is not the first time Cranbrook-based Bedroom Furniture Galleries has donated La-z-boys to the hospital.

“The East Kootenay Regional Hospital is pillar in our community providing excellent care for our whole region and we are trying to add a little comfort to make someone’s stay less stressful; be it in the maternity ward or in the ER,” said Christine Hoechsmann, one of the owners of The Bedroom Furniture Galleries.

The leather La-z-boys are valued at over $10,000 and have become an important part of the maternity ward in patient welfare.

“Feedback we hear from partners sleeping in the chairs to new mother’s feeding in the La-z-boys is incredibly positive,” Christine added. With the help of the East Kootenay Foundation for Health, The Bedroom Furniture Galleries is able to continue their support of the community with this generous donation.
