Better Together: The perfectly imperfect world as we see it

The Cranbrook Arts Council is thrilled to have SecretArts as the featured artist this month.

As the featured artist, their breathtaking, almost abstract take on the world will be showcased for all to see down at the Baker Street Location. Catherine and Jack Moes are the creative masterminds behind SecretArts and they find joy in creating together and engaging in “the hunt” for unique materials, subjects and composition.  Inspiration for their art emanates from back alleys, abandoned buildings, windows, doors, of the beautiful Kootenays – and all her mountains, skies, trees and wildlife.

Their vision is revealed through reclaimed metal and wood sculpture, photography, 3D collage, acrylic and line painting, assemblage art and encaustic pieces.

A Cranbrook Arts customer called their work “Wonderfully abstract, with a mix of rustic and urban influences.” Another customer said of their work, “with a mixture of rust, photography, and colour they stand out as unique pieces that would accent any home.”

Their show ‘Better Together: The Perfectly Imperfect World As We See It’ runs from March 3-28 and their opening reception is on Saturday, March 7 from 7-9 p.m. at 1013 Baker Street.
