CCT presenting Encore Series Fundraiser

Cranbrook Community Theatre (CCT) is very excited to announce the Encore Series Fundraiser.

Designed to bring our community together while re-visiting some of our favourite productions from the past, the aim of the fundraiser is to recover some of the lost revenue from the cancellation of two productions this year.

“We have heard from a lot of our members that they are missing the theatre and they have been recounting some of their favourite performances,” stated CCT Production Manager Trevor Lundy. “We decided to stream some of the past performances to re-connect with them but also as a way to raise funds to be able to keep CCT’s doors open and continue having live theatre here.”

CCT will be streaming three past productions.

First up is 2016’s “Lucy” by Damien Atkins and directed by Trevor Lundy. This will air on Saturday, July 25.

Next will be 2010’s “Confessions of a Paperboy” by Doug Curtis and directed by David Stock. This will stream on August 8.

Finally, on August 22, “Visiting Mr. Green” by Jeff Baron and directed by Tanya Laing Gahr.

Each production will be its own fundraiser. Tickets are available at the CCT website for a minimum donation of $10. If you want to make a higher donation, simply purchase multiple tickets. So, if you want to make a $50 donation, buy five tickets. Want to donate $100? Buy 10 tickets.

Additionally, sponsor Mike Paugh of IG Wealth Management has agreed to match all donations (up to $500 per performance).

This program was made possible by a grant from the Columbia Basin Trust.

After purchasing your tickets, audience members will receive a confirmation email. They will then receive the link to the online video at 6:30 on the night of each performance.

“We are hoping people will make an evening out of it,” Lundy says. “Gather together (in your bubble, of course), order some take out from one of our fantastic local restaurants, maybe even dress up a little and have a night at the theatre…in your own home.”

Please head over to the CCT website to purchase your tickets and help keep community theatre alive in the East Kootenay.
