CFKR hosting the Cranbrook Stay At Home Gala

The Community Foundation of the Kootenay Rockies (CFKR) is thrilled to announce that the nation-wide Stay At Home Gala will be hosted online in Cranbrook on Saturday, May 2.

Uniting people from all over our community, region, and beautiful country, this one-night event aims to strengthen community efforts that manage the effects of the COVID-19 virus.

Social distancing at its finest, the first-of-its-kind event will host all the familiar elements: dinner (take-out options from local restaurants), game-changing speakers, entertainers, musicians, an online silent auction, and much more.

Don your best, log on, and dine to support the members of our community who have been impacted by the COVID-19 virus.

All proceeds will stay local! Your donation will be tax receipted by the Community Foundation of the Kootenay Rockies, and the resulting proceeds will support local non-profits that are providing front-line support, helping our community to survive and thrive through COVID-19.

Participants will buy a ticket at Cranbrook Stay At Home Gala and join the virtual event from the comfort of their own homes.

Attendees will enjoy a three-part program: welcome and sign-in (5:30-6 p.m. MT), a one-hour national presentation (6-7 p.m.), followed by a one-hour local broadcast (7-8 p.m.). It’s a fun chance to dress up, enjoy some great live entertainment, and support a great cause.

“CFKR is so pleased to host this event in Cranbrook. It’s a chance to support our local non-profits on the frontline of COVID-19 and have a fun “night out” from the comfort of our own homes,” said Michele Bates, CFKR Board President.

Bates added, “In these uncertain times, you can be certain that the Community Foundation is continuing to support our community, today, tomorrow, and forever.”

To sponsor this event or to donate silent auction items, individuals, businesses, and service clubs are invited to contact Carol Hatala at 250-426-6107 or [email protected].
