Chernove’s third Paralympic medal a gold

Cranbrook’s Tristen Chernove is going to have a colourful trophy case following the 2016 Rio Paralympics as he cycled to a gold medal for Canada this morning in the in the men’s road cycling time trial C2.

Chernove started the games off with a silver medal in the track cycling 3,000-metre individual pursuit and followed that up with a bronze in the C1-2-3 1,000 time trial.

He collected his gold medal after he posted a time of 27 minutes, 43.16 seconds, beating Ireland’s Colin Lynch and China’s Liang Guihua.

Chernove, 41, owns Elevate Airports Inc., the airport management company that operates Canadian Rockies International Airport.
