Coldest Night of the Year welcoming walkers

Join Canadian Mental Health Association for the Kootenays (CMHA Kootenays) on Saturday February 22, for a family friendly two or five km walk around Cranbrook for the Coldest Night of the Year.

With temperatures frequently dropping below zero this month, there is more strain on the organizations that provide supports for those that are experiencing homelessness or difficulties in the City of Cranbrook.

The Coldest Night of the Year is a Canada-wide initiative that encourages people to walk through the cold and dark better understand what it’s like to experience homelessness and to raise money and awareness for those who are homeless, struggling to maintain support for their families and for those who have to leave their homes due to violence, abuse or other housing insecurity.

Walkers and teams from local businesses, churches, and other community groups are encouraged to sign up now to start gaining support to help reach their fundraising goals. Interested walkers are recommended to register as soon as possible HERE.
