Cranbrook Fall Festival will liven Rotary Park
The first Cranbrook Fall Festival is set to launch on Saturday, Sept. 23, at Rotary Park and 1st Street South.
The free festival will be a creative whirlwind of international, national and local performers celebrating the advent of fall; entertaining audiences for free from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Dozens of local and regional vendors will be participating in the farmer’s market, accompanied by local musicians like the Ktunaxa Nation drummers.
Starting at noon, with the support of the Columbia Basin Trust, a whirlwind of local, national and international buskers will hit 1st Street to perform, entertain and thrill the audiences with their magic, aerial stunts, and other feats of amazement. Some of the specialties of the touring buskers will include juggling, escape artistry, an acrobatic ladder act, illusionist, whips master and a clown that cannot be defined.
There will also be a kids’ zone with activities and performances for the kids, including bouncy castles, face painting, and interactive performances for the young ones.
P.U.B. Stop
Local non-profit group JCI International will be presenting the city’s first P.U.B Stop, from 4 to 10 p.m. in the heart of Rotary Park.
Four local breweries will be participating, including the likes of Fernie Brewing, Fisher Peak Brewing, Overtime Beer Works, and Arrowhead Brewing as they show off their favourite brews to Cranbrook residents for one evening of showcasing and fine beer tasting.
“JCI Kootenay is very excited to showcase our first ever Pop-up Beer Stop and we are happy to be involved with the Cranbrook Fall Festival, it will be a great day and amazing event,” said Angel Kaushal, JCI committee head for the Pop Up Beer Stop event.
Admission to the PUB stop, which stands for Pop Up Beer Stop, will be $5 per person.
The P.U.B. stop is proudly sponsored by Cranbrook Dodge, the East Kootenay Community Credit Union and Hryciuk Gallinger.
The PUB Stop will also be featuring local food trucks, like Flippin’ Crepes, Mama’s Dumplings, and the Chopstick Truck.
Local bands Clayton and Joelle, Dawson Rutledge, and East Side West Side Connection will be performing at the Rotary Park gazebo during the PUB stop festivities which are limited to 500 participants – so please come early.
