Cranbrook RCMP Report

The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) May 30 to 6 a.m., June 6.

The detachment received 146 calls for service throughout that period.

rcmplogoAmong the calls police handled:

Five Immediate Roadside Prohibition issued (alcohol);

Eight collisions – four driver’s charged out of the collisions;

One Hit and Run incident – no suspects;

Seven Mental Health Act calls – one apprehended;

Seven assault complaints: three domestic in nature resulted in arrests/ one assault complaint occurred at a local liquor establishment and resulted in arrest and charges.

Nine thefts reported: One shoplifting/ two thefts from yards/ three thefts from MV/ two thefts other;

Theft from MV 2016-3996: Two male youths were caught using stolen credit cards and were arrested. Charges forthcoming. More detailed media release coming.

Two reports of mischief to property

One drug seizure (marijuana).

A search warrant was executed on 8th Avenue South. An adult male and female arrested, charges forthcoming (more details coming).

Residents encouraged to ensure doors are locked at your residence and vehicles when not at home or going to sleep. Summer weather tends to bring out more opportunistic criminals looking for easy targets. Your Cranbrook RCMP are encouraging citizens to call if they notice suspicious activity, in particular persons who are prowling on yours or your neighbours’ properties.
