Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) Nov. 27 to 6 a.m., Dec. 4.
Police handled 150 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
One impaired driver: alcohol.
Six collisions – two in town / four out of town -mostly property damage and/or minor injury.
One hit and run – parking lot hit and run, suspected driver charged under the Motor Vehicle Act.
Five Mental Health Act calls ; one assist East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
Two assault complaints: both domestic in nature.
Seven thefts reported including one shoplifting and three thefts from vehicles … license plate stolen and jewellery.
Thefts other: A female reached behind a cashier counter at a local service station and stole a credit card and gift card; matter is still under investigation pending identification of the suspect reports. Theft of a chainsaw that occurred within the past two months; and theft from an unlocked detached garage where tools and sporting equipment were stolen.
Eight reports of property damage: over weekend two more vehicles had windows smashed in the area of 15th Street and 20th Ave S. Suspects driving around and shooting at houses, vehicles and people with a pellet or bb gun – four incidents in total. Other mischiefs were unrelated to these incidents.
Four drug seizures: Fentanyl/ marijuana/ crystal methamphetamine.
