Cranbrook’s downtown to host Halloween event

The Cranbrook Downtown Business Association (DBA) is excited to coordinate the annual ‘Trick or Treat’ event scheduled this year for Saturday, October 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

2016-treats-here-posterParticipation is open to all who operate a business within the city’s downtown regardless of DBA Membership.

“This is just one example of what the DBA does to promote our downtown,” said Joey Hoechsmann, DBA President.

Last year almost 30 retail and office locations participated, handing out yummy treats to dozens of costumed children while parents did their shopping. For many families, treat collecting in the afternoon works better with their weekend schedule.

Interested downtown business owners/managers are asked to register with the DBA by email at [email protected] before October 20 to be listed on the DBA’s Treat Map and to receive the ‘TREATS HERE’ poster.

There is no cost to register. Or they can contact Erin Dalton at Lotus Books ([email protected]) or by phone (250-426-3415). Participating businesses are asked to display the TREATS HERE poster prominently to the public and join in on the fun by dressing in costumes.

Costumed cuties, ghouls and gremlins are welcomed to follow Spooky the Spider’s trail on the TREATS HERE map available by October 24 showing the way to each and every treat-laden location in what will be a very fun filled family event during daylight hours.

The Cranbrook Downtown Business Association focuses on promoting a vibrant downtown atmosphere and is actively committed to giving a voice to the unique needs of merchants that operate within its boundaries. For more information, contact Maureen at (250) 426-5914.
