Craving delicious food?
Dig into the #EatLocalYXC Festival, starting tomorrow in Cranbrook
We’re all craving a little inspiration and comfort food during these strange, pandemic times – and the #EatLocalYXC Festival, happening Oct. 22 to Nov. 15, has just the recipe to make that happen.
The best part is you’ll learn about your entrepreneurial neighbourhood businesses and can eat without leaving your own kitchen, connecting with people in one click. Every Thursday for four weeks, local Cranbrook and Kimberley restaurants will showcase their businesses in Facebook Live events, plus offer special dining deals and incentives.
Brandi Boothman, a Cranbrook local, passionate foodie and wellness specialist, is helping spearhead #EatLocalYXC. She’s excited about how the event will spread the word about Cranbrook’s dining scene and the people behind-the-scenes who feed us when we don’t want to cook.
“I like that it came along at a time when I feel like what Cranbrook needs – and every area – needs support,” she said. “I’ve watch Cranbrook evolve and if I can support that and help people keep eating out and doing take-out and help those restaurants stay in business.”
#EatLocalYXC will help prop up local restaurants and entrepreneurs, said Boothman. “It’s good exposure. Every time someone likes and shares and comments on restaurants, it helps expands their reach,” to fans and then friends and family of fans.
Cranbrook already has a strong sense of community, she said, adding #EatLocalYXC “gives everyone an opportunity to keep up to date and see what their neighbours are up to and lets everyone help support each other.”
Here is a taster of what some local restaurants will be doing during their #EatLocalYXC Facebook Live sessions and the deals offered throughout the four-week event.
