DCC updates focus of virtual meetings October 26
The City of Cranbrook is updating its Development Cost Charges (DCCs) and in partnership with Urban Systems, is hosting two virtual meetings on Tuesday, October 26.
DCCs pay for roads, sewer, water, drainage, and parks infrastructure required to service future growth. DCCs are generally paid at subdivision for single detached lots or at building permit for new commercial, industrial, institutional, or multiple unit residential buildings.
The DCCs were last updated in 2004, and projects and costs have changed since then. These proposed changes are important to maintain the financial sustainability of the city. You can find additional information about the proposed changes on the city’s website.
Two virtual meetings will be held:
Development & Construction Community – Tuesday, October 26 – 2 to 4 p.m. MT
Register for the developer meeting.
General Public – Tuesday, October 26 – 7 to 8 p.m. MT
Register for the public meeting.
The meetings will provide details of the proposed revisions to the DCCs, see the types of roads, sewer, water, drainage, and parks projects that service future growth, gain a better understanding of who pays and when they pay and see how the proposed charges compare to neighbouring communities.
