Driver injured in cold morning crash on Ha Ha Creek Road

The driver of a car involved in a crash with a tractor on Ha Ha Creek Road this morning was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries after being freed from tangled wreckage by Cranbrook Highway Rescue.

On February 10 at 7:55 a.m., Cranbrook Highway Rescue was tasked out to assist at a collision scene between a car and farm tractor on Ha Ha Creek Road, 26 km east of Cranbrook.

“Emergency crews arrived on scene to find the tractor was partially on top of the car, and the driver of the car trapped inside. Highway Rescue assessed the situation and began to extricate the driver,” Cranbrook Highway Rescue reported on social media.

“The team was able to stabilize both the car and tractor, then using the Jaws-Of-Life were able to create enough space to get the driver safely out and into the care of BC Ambulance.”

The driver was transported with undetermined injuries to East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

“An excellent team effort completed this very technical rescue, despite the – 25°C temperatures,” Cranbrook Highway Rescue noted.
