Fort Steele reopening with adjustments

Fort Steele Heritage Town announced this morning (July 3) that it is ready to welcome visitors back, with a few timely adjustments.

“Given the current situation, adjustments have been made to ensure a safe experience for all. Visitors will notice new health and safety protocols are in place, and that Fort Steele staff are taking extra precautions in all areas of business,” the heritage attraction site stated on social media.

As well, Fort Steele has made the decision to gradually open offerings and limit capacity to a maximum of 150 visitors at a time: first come, first served.

“A gradual opening allows us to carefully adjust the experience, if necessary.”

What will be open?

The site is open: visitors are encouraged to explore a selection of heritage buildings and wander the wide town streets.

City Bakery is open for takeout service: outdoor and socially-distanced seating will be available on the deck.

The Fort Steele Railway will offer physically-distanced train rides. Wagon Rides are on offer, one family at a time.

For more information on steps the Fort is taking and what is open visit FortSteele.ca.

Fort Steele will be closed- Monday and Tuesday and open- Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
