Four in custody on robbery and other charges

Cranbrook RCMP currently have four people in custody following a robbery with a firearm that occurred last Tuesday.

In the early morning hours of July 16, Cranbrook RCMP responded to a robbery in the 100 Block of 8th Avenue. A delivery person had been approached by three individuals, one who brandished a firearm, and demanded items from the driver. The suspects made off with cash and pizza.

Police reached out to the public and were able to obtain video of the suspects. Warrants were approved to search three residences. Three youth suspects were taken into custody.

While waiting outside, the mother of one of the suspects entered the residence and removed evidence from the scene. She was arrested at that time. All four remain in custody.

During the search of the residences, evidence from other crimes committed throughout the past few weeks was located and new charges are being considered.

At this time, charges of Robbery with a Firearm have been approved for the three youth.

One adult, Jhana Maja Bradshaw is currently in custody on charges of Obstruction of Justice. A court hearing will be held later today (July 19).

“Cranbrook RCMP worked tirelessly in an effort to get these youth in custody before anyone got hurt. We are thankful to the community for providing us with video surveillance which aided us in getting charges against these individuals,” stated Cst. Katie Forgeron of Cranbrook RCMP.
