Fun with composting worms

Kids in Jennifer Doll’s Grade 2 class at Gordon Terrace Elementary School in Cranbrook got their hands grubby on Tuesday, January 17 when Wild Voices For Kids brought its Fun With Composting Worms program to the school.

Susan Panylyk, “The Worm Lady” (pictured), helped the kids identify baby, teenage and adult worms, and showed them how the little wrigglers turn waste into bountiful soil. Columbia Basin Environmental Education Network received $5,000 from BC Hydro’s Broad Impact Community Grant in 2016 to carry out Wild Voices For Kids programs in schools throughout the Columbia Basin.
