Garage Sale July 20 for Jax’s road to recovery

Bridge Interiors is hosting a Garage Sale this Saturday (July 20) to raise funds for the family of Cranbrook child who was recently badly burned and is need of a variety of medical care moving forward.

Jax Shannon, aged nine, had an accident on July 1 that led to him being rushed to East Kootenay Regional Hospital and then to the BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.

He is receiving the medical care he needs for the eight to 12% of his body that was badly burned. He has undergone skin grafting surgery and will be immobile for some time and will have a long road to recovery including physiotherapy, specific medical equipment, and other expenses.

He is a strong inspiration to many of us as he is maintaining a positive attitude through all of this. Since he is such a creative and resourceful kid that enjoys recycling “junk,” a garage sale seems fitting in order to continue helping the family out. All proceeds will be going directly to the family.

Sale organizers are looking for donations that are clean and in good repair to be sold.

Please drop any donations off at the Bridge Interiors on Thursday, July 18, between 4 and 8 p.m. or Friday, July 19 from 5 pm on at the cargo trailers.

If you are unable to drop things off at these times we will have some other options. Any other questions please pm the organizer of this event or text 250-919-9354.

The Garage Sale will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bridge Interiors, 125 Slater Road in Cranbrook.

Contributions can also be made through: E-Transfer: [email protected]
