GoByBikeBC Week rolls May 31 to June 6
The Sunrise Rotary Club of Cranbrook is thrilled to take on the task of coordinating this year’s GoByBikeBC Week activities for Cranbrook!
Activities are planned to engage the community of Cranbrook in healthy outdoor cycling fun. Any time you use your bike for transportation or fun between May 31 to June 6, you can log those trips and qualify for one of many prize draws including the grand prize trip to cycle the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia, sponsored by Exodus Travels.
What is GoByBikeBC?
Each year, GoByBike BC’s Spring & Fall Bike to Work & School Week encourages British Columbians to choose their bicycles for transportation rather than a motor vehicle: Converting sedentary time behind the steering wheel, into time pedalling their bicycle wheels; enjoying healthy, environmentally friendly, active transportation.
During the 2019 spring event, 56,074 B.C. riders cycled 2.97 million kilometres and saved 644,005 kilograms of greenhouse gases from entering our atmosphere. A total of 89.1 million calories were burned during this event!
