Hearts will keep beating at Studio/Stage Door

The Cranbrook Community Theatre Society (CCT) is pleased to acknowledge its partnership with Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club in the purchase of a ZOLL fully automated electronic defibrillator (A.E.D.) for the Studio/Stage Door.

The CCT applied for and was successful in receiving the funding from the Sunrise Rotary Club in the late fall of 2019 and the A.E.D. was purchased and installed in December. The chosen unit activates and guides the user with step by step audio directions on how to use it to save someone’s life.

The city-owned Studio/Stage Door heritage venue is used by many community groups and individuals for a variety of programs and events ranging from private celebrations, exercise/dance programs and meetings, to movies, and live music and theatre events. As stewards of the 111-year- old heritage building, the CCT Board of Directors endeavor to maintain safety for all users and believe the A.E.D. will be invaluable.

“We hope no one ever has to use it, but we’re very glad to have it here in case that happens,” stated Peter Schalk, CCT President.

“The Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club is pleased to support a variety of programs that make communities better both locally and abroad,” said Sunrise Rotary President Al Dyck. “We organize and facilitate popular Cranbrook community-building events such as the Gran Fondo and Rockies Film Festival, and devote the profits to a water project in South Africa, a Central America literacy program and towards efforts to eradicate polio.”

The CCT is very grateful to Sunrise Rotary and also to Dick Griffith, owner/operator of Interior Trophy and Engraving, for donating the wall plaque that acknowledges Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary’s contribution.
