Highway Rescue frees trapped driver

At 8:15 a.m., June 11, Cranbrook Highway Rescue was paged for a single vehicle roll over on Highway 3/95 near the Irishman Creek Bridge.

When crews arrived on scene there was one person trapped in a vehicle that was 40 feet down an embankment.

The team quickly set up the Jaws of Life and a rope rescue system. The team worked with BC Ambulance Service to safely extricate the person from the vehicle and raise them up the bank to the ambulance.

The driver was then transported to East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook.

The team of three safely completed the task while still practicing COVID-19 protocol, Cranbrook Highway Rescue reported on social media.
