The Kootenay ICE announced Jan. 2 that it has acquired a 2021 sixth round draft pick from the Tri-City Americans. In return, the Americans receive the Western Hockey League player rights to 2000-born forward Nick Bowman.

Nick Bowman was acquired in an October trade with Moose Jaw.

Bowman has scored two goals in 10 games for the ICE this season, after coming over from Moose Jaw.

And the ICE announced Jan. 3 it has acquired 2000-born defenceman Marco Creta from the Regina Pats in exchange for forward Blake Allan.

Creta, a native of Oak Bluff, Manitoba, has played in 33 regular season games with the Pats this season collecting two goals and seven assists for nine points. In his WHL career, Creta has played in 66 regular season games registering three goals and 11 assists for 14 points.

Allan collected three assists in 31 games this season with the ICE.

The next home game for the ICE is against the Spokane Chiefs on Saturday, January 5. That game is the ICE Education Fund Night, with a special one-time only offer being made available to ICE fans. Each individual to make a minimum donation of $10 to the ICE Education Fund will receive a free adult walk-up ticket to Saturday’s game. Furthermore, if a $5 donation is made, the individual will receive a free child/ student walk-up ticket. All proceeds for walk-up ticket donations will go to the ICE Education Fund.
