ICE going retro tomorrow night; jersey auction underway

Kootenay ICE players will be wearing retro white uniforms during the team’s next home game on Friday, February 23, against the Medicine Hat Tigers.

All game-worn uniforms will be part of an eight-day silent auction beginning Feb 21 and lasting until the start of the third period during the ICE’s game on Wednesday, February 28.

All successful bids over $225 will also get a limited edition commemorative 100th Anniversary Memorial Cup coin (valued at $67 including tax). The minimum bid on a jersey is $100. This is the last time retro jerseys for current ICE players will be available for auction this season.

The successful bidder will have the chance to get the jersey signed by the player who wore the jersey.

All of the net proceeds from the silent auction will go towards the ICE Education Fund, which helps support ICE player’s post-secondary education.

Bids on all game-worn retro ICE jerseys can be placed under the ICE tent during ICE home games, by stopping by the ICE Gear Store at Western Financial Place or by calling 250-417-0322.

The Kootenay ICE announced Wednesday it’s recalled 2002-born defenceman Anson McMaster.

The ICE selected McMaster in the second round (23rd overall) in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.

In 35 games with the Okotoks Oilers of the AMHL this season, McMaster registered 13 assists.

Tickets for Friday’s game can be purchased online at ICEcountry.ca, at the ICE Gear Store at Western Financial Place or by calling 250-417-0322.
