Inclusive employer award nominations now open

We are approaching the month of October ever so rapidly, and in our community, the month stands for a far larger cause than collecting candy and dressing up as our favourite characters.

October is Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) and Community Inclusion Month. The ICE (Inclusive Employer) awards were created to allow us an opportunity to highlight and show the value of inclusiveness, open-minded thinking, and progress in our local communities.

This will be the third rendition of our annual event and we are hoping to have even more people on board and nominated than in previous years. The worldwide situation we all currently face has allowed us to truly all look within and see what matters, and for most people that is to be a part of a community and to be included. These same values don’t change for anyone, and we are excited to see this inclusive thinking continually grow.

We couldn’t be happier to be starting nominations for this year’s awards on September 7 with the window of nominations closing on September 25.

The voting can be conducted at https://www.e-know.ca/ice-awards/

The voting period will quickly follow with the timeframe of October 1 to 24 also on e-KNOW.ca.

The ICE awards will be conducted in both a virtual and in-person format on November 4 from 4 to 6 p.m. The location and finite details of this will be announced shortly and will of course adhere to all covid restrictions, and guidelines handed down from the Governments of B.C. and Canada.

We look forward to seeing your nominations, having your votes, and being able to celebrate inclusion as a part of this ever-important and growing event. Should you have any questions or concerns surrounding this year’s event, the lead-up, or how you can become more involved, please don’t hesitate to contact us at REALM.
