JCI’s PUBS boosting Canada Day festivities July 1

JCI Kootenay is inviting residents of Cranbrook and other areas to come and celebrate Canada Day at our third annual Pop Up Beer Stop (PUBS). Local breweries, musical talents and food trucks will be featured at this event, along with lots of activities for children.

The celebrations will take place at Cranbrook’s Balment Park, July 1. Gates will open at 1:45 p.m. for the event to run from 2 until 10 p.m. This is open to all persons, entry by donation.

The day will start with a speech from our Mayor, MLAs and Teacher Awards. At 3:30 we will sing O’Canada, and this year’s Sam Steele Sweetheart candidates will hand out cake.

Beer from Over Time Beer Works, Fernie Brewing Company, Fisher Peak Brewing Company, and Arrowhead Brewing Company will be sold during the event from 2 until 10 p.m.

There will be an abundance of entertainment throughout the day including local musical talents, The Choice, The Parsons, Indite, and our headlining band – Shred Kelly.

Entertainment between musical acts will include Zumba by Key City Zumba.

Kids will have lots to do all day with bouncy castles, the BMX track, temporary tattoos, and more!

Food truck vendors are, Mama’s Dumplings, Flipping Crepes, The Grill Next Door, What the Food, The Candy Man, Thirstea, Street Dogs, and Ice Box. There will also be an artisan market running from 2 to 6 p.m.

Key City Gymnastics will be volunteering at our waste station to ensure all recycling is separated from garbage. With hopes to cut down on waste and one-use plastics so we encourage everyone to bring their reusable water bottles, there will be a water station to refill water bottles.

Bring your family and friends, but please leave your pets at home.

JCI Kootenay is very excited to celebrate with our awesome community at this family fun event.
