Jesse Miller brings mediated reality to Cranbrook

Cranbrook RCMP is teaming up with East Kootenay Division of Family Practice, Doctors of BC, School District No. 5 and the Child and Youth Mental Health & Substance Use Collaborative to bring Jesse Miller to Cranbrook for an evening at Key City Theatre.

Jesse Miller is a respected and highly sought after national speaker on topics of social media awareness, social networking behavior and online content evaluation. The evening session at the Key City Theatre will focus on learning more about digital citizenship, media literacy, informed and safe social media use and parent participation in their childrenā€™s social media lives.

Mr. Miller will also be attending Laurie Middle School and Parkland Middle School in Cranbrook, as well as Selkirk Secondary School in Kimberley, to speak with students in grades 7-9 about digital citizenship, positive use of social media and the balance of use of mobile technology.

Mr. Miller will be at the Key City Theatre at 6:30 p.m. on January 12, for a free presentation about social media and how we, as parents, can assist our children in navigating the social media world.

ā€œWe would ask that people attending bring a non-perishable food item for the Cranbrook Food Bank,ā€ said Cst. Katie Forgeron of Cranbrook RCMP.
