MVA causes power outage

UPDATE: As of 11:55 p.m. BC Hydro reports about 995 customers are now without power following a vehicle crash Jan. 9 at the intersection of 22nd St. North and Highway 3/95.

Original story: About 2,700 BC Hydro customers are without power this evening (Jan. 9) following a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of 22nd St. North and Highway 3/95.

Residents in the northeastern part of the city to those along Mission Road to St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino appear to be without power according to a BC Hydro outage map.

The MVA that appears to have caused the outage occurred at about 5:46 p.m.

The incident has closed the highway but a detour is available. There is no word on the condition of those involved in the crash.
