One in custody after theft from Operation Street Angels

Cranbrook RCMP currently have one male in custody with regard to a theft from Operation Street Angels over the weekend.

On Monday (Sept. 23), RCMP was called to Street Angels after a report of theft of meat from two freezers located at the facility. The suspect(s) broke into the outbuilding and stole a large quantity of meat from two freezers along with bins used to transport the items.

On Tuesday, RCMP received information about the theft and the possible whereabouts of the stolen property.  Officers obtained a search warrant for two residences and were able to recover a portion of what was stolen.

One male remains in custody and will appear before the courts this afternoon. Charges of Possession of Stolen Property and Breach of Conditional Sentence Order are being recommended.

RCMP are still looking for information as it is believed more than one person was involved with this theft and there is still some stolen meat still not recovered. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cranbrook RCMP at 250-489-3471.
