Opening day at the BMX Park

By Tammy Oates

Over 120 riders came out to support Cranbrook BMX on the club’s opening day, coming from as far away as Spokane, Edmonton, Kelowna, and Airdrie, Alberta.

Olympic Coach Ken Cools was on hand to give new riders some encouragement and words of advise before their first Moto.

City of Cranbrook Mayor Lee Pratt dropped the gate for Councillor Mike Peabody, Laura Manger of Cranbrook BMX, and a rider from the team to begin the day with the inaugural race as fans and parents took in the action from the stands.

Cranbrook BMX races regularly on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. Anyone interested or with questions for the club are encouraged to contact the club at [email protected] or can find them on Facebook.
