RCMP investigating after good Samaritan stabbed

Cranbrook RCMP is investigating after being called to a stabbing last Saturday evening.

On December 7, at about 7 p.m., RCMP received a call from the East Kootenay Regional Hospital advising that a person had arrived with a stab wound.

Frontline officersĀ attended and spoke with the injured person. Police learned that the victim was on the trail behind a business located in the 500-block of Victoria Avenue North, when he noted an unknownĀ man andĀ womanĀ involved in a verbal disputeĀ andĀ observed theĀ woman allegedlyĀ be struck by the man.

The victim went to intervene and was allegedly stabbed by the unknown male suspect. The duo then fled the area, reported Cst. Katie Forgeron of Cranbrook RCMP.
