Registration open for Kootenay Fun 5
Registration is open for the third annual Kootenay Fun 5!
Hosted by Kootenay Christian Academy, this family-friendly, five kilometre walk/run event is the perfect opportunity for serious runners to get in a little practice before race season, or a great chance to get the little ones out and moving! Walk, jog, run, push a stroller or a wheelchair. Come with the kids or Grandma and Grandpa – the flat, paved and gravel course is perfect for the hard-core athlete and the first-time participant alike.
The first two years were an enormous success with over 500 Cranbrook and area racers of all ages plus countless spectators, vendors and volunteers cheering them on.
First, second and third place medals were awarded in nine age categories and the top male and female finisher took home a new pair of runners compliments of Gerick Sports! Pre and post race expo, mascots, emergency vehicle tours, bouncy tents, bbq, and live music make for a fantastic day. And, our first and second annual events raised approximately $8,000.
This was reinvested in sports and technology equipment for the students of KCA!
This year is planned to be even bigger and better so don’t miss out! Registration opens February 1.
Keener rate is on until February 28 and anyone registered by that date will be entered to win gift certificates from local restaurants or gift cards from Save on Foods! Adults are only $20 and Youth 5-17 are $10.
Kids under five race FREE! Registration includes an official 2018 race shirt and swag bag full of goodies!
