Rotary Clubs provide online Bingo proceeds to EKFH

The Rotary Clubs of Cranbrook are honoured to be donating to the East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH), Not Alone Campaign.

Rotary supports programs that benefit children and youth. Through scholarships, bursaries, Youth Exchange, RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award), Interact & Rotaract. Foundry fits perfectly with our vision and is another vital resource for our youth. The bingo was created with the vision of giving back to our communities that have struggled due to the pandemic. We know it has been especially hard on our youth.

We are very proud to be able to support this year’s East Kootenay Foundation for Heath Not Alone campaign.

The money raised by our clubs is from the proceeds of the Rotary Community Online Bingo, created by the Rotary Club of Golden.

When bingo cards are purchased, bingo players choose which Rotary club to support. We receive a portion of all Cranbrook card sales.

What started as a small group of Golden people, online bingo has grown in popularity and through the generosity of The Rotary Club of Golden, 12 East and West Kootenay Rotary Clubs, including our two Cranbrook Rotary Clubs, have partnered with them to offer a weekly event that is fun for all.

Greg Ehman with the Golden club has said that his favourite part of the game has been watching how it’s brought people together in a time where we physically must remain apart.

“Giving people the chance to connect not just with Golden, but across communities, we have families playing bingo together across Canada which I think is pretty neat,” he said.

So, for every person in Cranbrook who has bought a bingo card, this donation is from you. By joining in on bingo, you have made this donation possible and through the hard work of the Rotary volunteers, we can turn this money back to our community for worthwhile projects like the Foundry.

We appreciate your support of our Rotary fundraising efforts.
