Rotary continues to support Salvation Army

Bill Bennett, President of the Cranbrook Rotary Club, and Sandy Zeznik, Chair of the Rotary Donations Committee, presented a $2,000 cheque and $5,850 in Save-On-Foods and Superstore food vouchers to Major Ginny Kristensen and Tara Delaire of the Cranbrook chapter of the Salvation Army.

Cranbrook Rotary and its community and business partners have contributed $13,850 in total to the Salvation Army since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The funding has been directed toward the School District No. 5 lunch program, including a $1,000 purchase of Girl Guide cookies, as well as support to other agencies and the Salvation Army Food Basket.

The contributions include $7,000 from Cranbrook Rotary, $2,000 from a Rotary District grant, $1,100 each in discounts from Save-On-Foods and Superstore and an additional $2,650 received through generous donations from our community.

Cranbrook Rotary is proud to support the Salvation Army and the important work they do in our community and would like to acknowledge the exceptional response from the people and businesses of Cranbrook.

Donations can be made by etransfer to the Cranbrook Rotary EKCCU account at [email protected] or by sending a cheque to Cranbrook Rotary Club, P.O. Box 7. Cranbrook, B.C., V1C 4H6 or by credit card by emailing Bill Bennett, President, Cranbrook Rotary Club at [email protected].
