Scott J Brown and Jon Bisset performing June 1

Folk singer Scott Jeffrey Brown from Portland, Oregon, will be performing with local talent Jon BissetĀ at The Heritage Inn on June 1.

Scott is 71-years-young and one of his heroes is Gordon Lightfoot. You can expect to hear a few of his songs as well as other covers and originals.

At the age of 17 his band opened for The Beach Boys on two occasions.

In Scott’s words: ā€œMy mother Lovene E. Shoecraft was born in Cranbrook in 1927, she attended Central School, moved to Michigan at seven years old. Mom was born near the headwaters of the Columbia River and passed away in 2011 near Columbia Bar (90 miles). She was a nurturing loving mom. I am visitingĀ up there in memory of her.ā€

Also on Saturday, June 1, at 1:30 p.m., Scott and Louie CupelloĀ will be at The Green Home playing a few songs for the seniors. Joel Vinge of Bud Abbott’s Friends will be joining them.

ā€œThis is one way that we give back to the community. I was performing with The Funtastic Singers at The Green Hone on Tuesday, May 21 when the idea of having Scott perform first popped into my mind. Arrangements were made and the idea became a reality, this will be a great opportunity forĀ both residents of The

Green Home, Scott, Joel and myself. How cool would it be if someone at The Green Home knew Scott’s mother?ā€ Cupello said.

Jon Bisset a talentedĀ singer/songwriter from Meadowbrook, a tireless volunteer sound technician, set up and take down with LOCALS, Homegrown, Fisher Peak Performing Artists Society, Gilbilly, Columbia Valley Salmon FestivalĀ etc. will open the show June 1 at the Heritage, presented by Lazy Crow Promotions.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and show time is 7:30 p.m.
