Shot fired into residence leads to charges

On August 7, at approximately 2:40 p.m., Cranbrook RCMP General Duty officers received a complaint of a bullet entering a residence at the 1900 block of 10th Avenue South, narrowly missing one of the occupants inside.

The investigation by the General Duty units along with a Forensic Identification Services member led to a nearby trailer court residence where police arrested one male inside. Cranbrook General Duty Units, Crime Reduction Unit and Police Dog Service subsequently executed search warrants where the following items were seized: Various firearms, ammunition, controlled substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine, a substantial amount of cash and other offence related property.

The male who was arrested is currently in custody and facing firearms and drug offence charges and the matter is still under investigation.
