Supporting local food producers with Accelerator Program
Farm Kitchen, located in Cranbrook, is a non-profit kitchen incubator that supports food-focused entrepreneurs in developing, operation, and growing successful businesses.
This Interior Health-approved, commercial kitchen space is rentable by the hour for everyone including food processors, caterers, and home cooks. Our commercial kitchen equipment makes your job easier and more efficient allowing you to grow your business and get the job done better.
The list of kitchen equipment is always growing and includes a walk-in cooler and freezer, sanitizer, six burner range, convection oven, 20-quart mixer, robo coupe, blender, dehydrator, ice wands, vacuum sealer, even a refrigerated truck.
Starting in September Farm Kitchen will be offering an eight-week Accelerator Program Pilot. This Food Business Accelerator Program is designed to assist small-scale food and beverage processing companies gain skills, training and education to run their businesses. The program provides companies with targeted information specific to the food industry and is complimented with industry expert insight, business coaching, and networking opportunities to guide their decisions and chart a clear course for growing operations.
The accelerator program provides companies with:
- eight weeks of blended face-to-face and online custom training;
- access to program materials online 24/7 to accommodate busy schedules;
- live Q & A sessions with industry leaders;
- one-on-one business support;
- co-working office space, with unlimited coffee :);
- commercial kitchen access to produce/develop/test products.
Participants will be required to commit to a minimum of four hours a week for eight weeks. There will be one and a half days of face-to-face sessions in Cranbrook with the remainder online.
Financial investment is $149. The program will be limited to eight companies and starts September 16. Spaces will be filled based on both the order received as well as company readiness for the program so don’t delay register today.
