Two arrested in drug bust

The Cranbrook RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, with the assistance of General Duty, Police Dog Service and General Investigation Services, June 21 executed a search warrant at a Cranbrook residence on 22nd Avenue North, which resulted in the seizure of over two ounces of cocaine, marijuana, weapons, cash and evidence consistent with drug trafficking.

A male was arrested inside the residence and a second male sought in the investigation was located outside a downtown bar shortly after and arrested where amounts of cocaine consistent with trafficking were found on his person followed by his vehicle being seized in relation to the offence(s).

Both males face multiple charges under the CDSA and will appear before a Judicial Justice on June 22.

“Cranbrook RCMP remains focused on enforcement in regards to drug trafficking within the city and surrounding area,” stated detachment commander S/Sgt. Hector Lee.

Anyone with information on drug trafficking is encouraged to report same to the RCMP or contact CrimeStoppers.
