2020 in the East Kootenay
The following is a wee video presentation of images of the East Kootenay during 2020 as seen through our eyes.
Our rambling natures were curtailed by the sundry orders and lockdowns of this pandemic and we only got out a few precious times throughout the East Kootenay. Like most of you, we had grand plans for travel and exploration in 2020 but… not so much in the end.
The lack of getting out and about resulted in no publication of winter and spring 2020 images, with some of those images contained within.
The highlight of our year’s travels occurred an hour from our home in Gold Creek on and beside Lake Koocanusa during a late August houseboating adventure with Sunshine Houseboats.
We’ve tried to order the images from December 22, 2019 to Dec. 21, 2020.
You will note a few images of people gathered together; some are from Fernie’s Griz Days celebration, held four days before the declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic by the World Health Organization.
Our photo collection from spring 2020 is heavily littered with COVID-19 images; things we quickly learned were necessary as we’ve published five provincial updates a week (except for holidays) dating back to mid-March.
Images contained within were taken in: Columbia Valley; Cranbrook and area; Elk Valley; Kimberley and area: Ktunaxa Nation.
