At least one injured in Gold Creek crash
At least one person was taken to East Kootenay Regional Hospital this evening (June 25) after a two-vehicle crash at the junction of Gold Creek Road and 42nd Avenue South.
A sedan with Idaho plates and a pickup truck with B.C. plates collided at the intersection at about 8:10 p.m., with a young man thrown from the truck, which landed on its side.
Area residents swarmed to the scene to aid the crash victims, with some helping free a woman who was stuck in the truck and others tending to the young male, who landed about five feet from a telephone pole after being ejected from the truck.
The woman freed from the car then attended to the injured male, who may have injured ribs and was favouring a wrist.
A young adult female driver of the sedan was distraught but otherwise appeared okay. A local resident stayed with her and others controlled traffic until Cranbrook Fire Rescue, RCMP and BC Ambulance arrived.
