Avalanche work concluded, pass open again
UPDATE: Highway 3 in Kootenay Pass is once again open to traffic following avalanche control work.
Avalanche control work between the West Avalanche Gate and East Avalanche Gate was completed today (Jan. 11 at 12 p.m. Mtn), DriveBC reports.
An alternate route is available from Nelson to Creston via Highway 3A and Kootenay Lake Ferry, with an estimated travel time 2.5 hours.
