While now is the time for motorists to once again be aware of children wandering roadside and to be razor sharp in school zones, they also need to know that some area roadways will be much busier than usual this upcoming Saturday.

About 500 cyclists will be participating in the sixth annual Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo on Saturday, Sept. 7 between 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Cyclists will depart from St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino, travelling to Kimberley, onto Wasa Lake and returning on Highway 95A back to the St. Eugene Resort.

Cyclists will also be cycling on the Ft. Steele-Wardner loop between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
