April is Dig Safe Month

British Columbia recognizes April as Dig Safe Month.

Homeowners and contractors are reminded to “click or call” BC 1 Call before digging.

Important infrastructure, including telecommunication cables, electricity wires, natural gas lines, water mains and sewer lines, are often buried underground.

By clicking or calling BC 1 Call before beginning any excavation project, British Columbians can ensure safety and prevent possible interruption of services.

The BC Common Ground Alliance fully supports the “click before you dig” campaign. Along with its stakeholders, the non-profit organization communicates the importance of safe digging practices to prevent injuries, property damage and inconvenient outages.
