Gran Fondo Super Early Bird Deadline approaching

The April 30 the Super Early Bird registration deadline for the sixth annual Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo, scheduled for Saturday, September 7, is just 15 days away.

With a 500 rider cap, the Fondo is already 55% full. Last year the Fondo sold out!

Registrations have come from afar; Ontario, Washington and Idaho,Vancouver and many cycling enthusiasts from Alberta. To register go on line HERE.

Cyclists who register by April 30 qualify to win two nights accommodation at the St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino, host hotel, a complimentary entry for the Wasa Triathlon and Round The Mountain and two complimentary entries for the Chafe Gran Fondo (Sandpoint, Idaho).

The Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo, a non-profit cycling event, has established itself as one of the most popular events on the Gran Fondo circuit.

John Woodsen, acclaimed North American Bucket List Rider, wrote, the Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo is the Crown jewel of Canadian Fondos. Previous cyclists state the enthusiastic and friendly volunteers, fantastic scenery and exceptionally well-organized event is like no other cycling event.

Funds raised by the Fondo are distributed to non-profit groups in the community, including the three Rotary Clubs in Cranbrook and Kimberley, two local Lions Clubs to support local community service projects. Funds are also allocated to the Kimberley Volunteer Ski Patrol and the North Star Rails-to-Trails Society.

The event, organized by the Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club, could only happen with the fantastic support of our title sponsor, Apex Accounting and the many other local businesses in Cranbrook and Kimberley.
